Hello- Our observatory recently purchased a DragonLIGHT Panel and DargonLIGHT Controller. In trying to set up the controller, we have run into several problems.
1) Alpaca discovery is not working, even with just the controller and PC isolated to a separate router with only the PC and controller connected. I can see the controller gets an IP address from the router's DHCP table, and I can access the web interface to control the light, change the name, and connect to WiFi, but Alpaca discovery still won't see the device on the PC. Windows firewall is disabled and there is no other security software running on this PC.
2) In the web interface, I see no ability to assign a static IP address. This is a necessity in our environment, as we share a network/internet with a high school. All of our PCs and equipment have statically assigned IP addresses in a special subnet with less firewall rules/restrictions for the internet. There is DHCP on the network, but it provides a school issued address outside of our static subnet. Alpaca discovery was not able to find the device on this network, even with the PC also set to DHCP. So I tried isolating just the PC and the controller to their own router as noted in item 1. I also tried to manually create an Alpaca device using the known IP address, and it still would not connect.
3) When Alpaca discovery failed, I tried to download and upgrade to the latest firmware from this forum, as I could access the device web interface. The firmware update fails with error "Error setting boot partition".
See the attached screenshots, showing alpaca discovery enabled, but unable to find the controller, while the web interface is clearly open and talking to it, and the error message when attempting to update firmware. As there is no model information on the controller, we were sent a unit with the LAN port, an anderson powerpole connector pair for 12v DC in, and another anderson powerpole pair for the LED light out.
Is there something obvious we are missing here, or is there a chance we have a defective controller? Thanks for any insights you can provide!
